We purchased two boxes of chicken and fish from a door to door salesman for Capital Meats with a written guarantee and verbal promise that if we weren’t satisfied with the product, within 1 year, we could exchange it for something we liked. Within the year I began attempting to contact Capital Meats as some of the meat was too salty. After two months of calling (including being on hold for over 20 minutes with no answer), filing comments on the company website (because I learned that was the only way to get them to respond) and emailing with an individual in customer service (as she passed my problem on for Pittsburgh to Winchester and back) the problem has still not been resolved. I was open to an exchange until I was given the run around for that period of time and the salesman assigned to exchange the product forgot show up and then asked me to remind him to come the next day. I then determined that the only way to be satisfied was by returning the product and receiving a refund. When that was communicated to Capital Meats the tone changed from accommodating to intimidating. It appears that they are trying to bully me into accepting an exchange. The quality of the product is inadequate. The customer service, unacceptable. The company, a scam.
