Default Mts allstream phone company totally unprofessional & incompetent

MTS ALLSTREAM CANADA - SUCKS, POOR SERVICE LEVELS, INCOMPETENT TECHNOLOGY, UNPROFESSIONAL AND CUSTOMER SERVICE HANDICAPPED.

Unfortunately due to reference from a friend I opted for MTS Allstream services along with toll free line for my business.
Ordered two lines in 2009, It took almost two months to connect the line and to make it functional. I resisted my anger due to my friend who was involved in referring this service. Else I would have trashed their service in first place.

Somehow our company used their third rate service for few months with all the trouble, and unreliable service. No matter how many times you call their handicapped customer service, your work doesn;t get coordinated. Seems nothing is in place in their company. Their phone lines are leased from Bell network. They do not have anything of their own.

Finally after getting pissed off with their deteriorated customer service, I planned to cancel one line and decided to move another line to new address so that I can retain my main number till I can switch same number to another service.
But for moving the service to new address it took again 2 months (contrary to their promise of 8 days) , starting 2nd week of Dec 2009, the work was partial finished in last week of January 2010.
Even today to get the toll free service and other features back I am still waiting to see any action from their office.
As Allstream moved the line by 26th Jan 2010 ( it was done by Bell) but toll free & other features are not functional till today. Two months of wait for moving line and still do not see anyone in their company to fix the issues.
All that I get to talk to is one different high school drop out girls every 10 minutes and there is not really much of coordination.

Will give up and get rid off their services once my main number is transferred to other reliable and competent service. ( Since I do not want to loose established phone number for my business)

Allstream is a company which cannot be relied for their services, technology or customer service. Keep them out of your premises and save your money, time and mental peace.


By now they should have been out of business, but unfortunately in this country everything works where communication is not important aspect being consumer based economy. These companies take undue advantage of limited competition. All that I would say is that companies like MTS Allstream won;t find place even in third world countries with this kind of service and technology they have.

However they gave me rebate of 150$ when their services were not fully functional for two months when I ordered new lines in 2009. But against this- I lost few thousand dollars in rental and business loss.

STEER CLEAR FROM MTS ALLSTREAM, if you want peace of mind and do not want to ruin your business.


FOR ANY GOOD OR BAD REASON THEY BLAME IT ON BELL. BUT IT IS NOT CUSTOMER'S PROBLEM AS OUR CONTRACT AND PAYMENT IS WITH ALLSTREAM. WHAT THEY DO INTERNALLY WITH BELL TO LEASE THEIR HARDWARE OR MANPOWER OR TECHNOLOGY IS THEIR PROBLEM. IT IS NOT CUSTOMER'S BUSINESS TO LISTEN TO THEIR EXCUSES BASED ON WHATEVER ISSUES THEY HAVE. THEIR JOB IS TO FIX UP THINGS IN STIPULATED TIME. BUT THEY FAIL ALWAYS. TOTAL UNPROFESSIONAL BUNCH OF JOKERS.

MTS ALLSTREAM= BUNCH OF JOKERS=POOR SERVICE=RIPOFF

I have been a customer with Allstream for about 4 years now. I am located downtown in the Toronto area and they provide me servies for my 8 lines.

I have always found that Allstream has been pretty good in responding to my questions. I have never had any issues with them. I do know that like Bell and Rogers, things can go wrong...but after reading your comment, I am beside myself as to why you are posting saying to stay away from them? You have admitted that they refunded you $150.

I am also aware that you are incorrect about the leasing of Bell's lines. I am on Allstream's network as I was going to do a move a while back and they had to check their system. The rep whom I was speaking with, who was very polite, educated me the differences of using their lines and Bell's lines depending on the location I was moving to. Fortunatly for me, I was moving to an area where I would still be on their network.

Anyways, if you are unhappy with Allstream then why are you still with them? I left Bell becasue of a much worse situation than what you are complaining about which I won't get into.

Anyways, sorry to hear about your situation, but I will continue to have Allstream as my provider. It seems you may be over-reacting just a bit here going by what you are saying and the situations that you ran into. Maybe your business is larger than mine and that is why I don't know. But I am happy with Allstream as my provider.

Are you working for Allstream by any chance? The way you replied seems bit unconvincing to me. But to me I have not seen anything good about Allstream, they have very poor customer service, not user friendly, their phone features are more or less old age or poorly performing, old technology, they blame everything on Bell. So I do not know how you got great ideas about Allstream?? Also refunding alone doesn;t compensate the loss of time, business and mental peace, May be these issues really don;t bother you. For me time, energy, resources and mental peace are important factors in business. I do not know about others or the employees of Allstream, what they think about it.

I thought after receiving this review Allstream management will learn to fix up the issue. However they did make an effort in Mid feb to fix up the toll free features which worked till 18th feb and again it shows that this number is out of service. It is beyond their technician's and supervisors knowledge to even know why this line is not working and who is responsible for that.

Their only reply is that Bell has done this, bell has done that, when I am paying all my bills to Allstream and I have nothing to do with bell.

They continue to ruin my business. Highly scary and inefficient service provider.

Hi there -- I work for Allstream Small Business. I saw your post on another forum, but thought I'd follow up here as well.

It’s never good to hear that a customer has had difficulties, and I’m sorry to hear that was the case. As a note regarding our lines, we have our own extensive network coast-to-coast in Canada, but in some cases we must rely on other company’s lines to have a wider reach as do all telecommunications companies. It's unfortunate the issue came up again, and hopefully our technical support can get to the bottom of it asap. (For reference they're available 24/7 at 1-877-663-2791 then press 1 for English then 4 for technical support). I sincerely want the issue to get fixed for you.

Even though this isn't optimal I do thank you for your feedback and I assure you that we’re working diligently on making continuous improvements to serve our customers better every day.

MTS Allstream is unreliable , and not user friendly.
Ripoff.

Better go for other competent services.

Customer service, Technical support is plain joke. Wonder how these clowns are in business !

On top of that they are good in making non-convincing bills which can never be resolved.

MTS Allstream is absolutely disgusting service.

My line again stopped functioning on June 29th , 2010 without any information.

Wonder why such companies continue to exist in this country?

I think Mark of Allstream who has posted a message is here to say something ?

Default Manager customer care lied.... All stream sucks.

Now they have sent me over 400$ invoice for their non-functioning garbage service.

Watch out this company..

On top of that Mr. Phil , who promised that If I opt out of this service my bills of that period will be waived off ( for interruption of service for many weeks during moving and also for down time and non-functioning period)

but finally without any intimation or information line was deactivated and now I am asked to pay fancy bills.
He lied to me on several occassions.

This company really sucks in terms of customer service , ethics and professionalism.

AVOID BY ALL MEANS, if they take 6 to 8 weeks to connect the service or to move the service. It took 2 months to connect the service to full functionality during my order and took 6 weeks to move line after a year of my change of address. On top of that wrong bills, bad lines, bad connectivity.
